This Privacy Policy covers the Empowered phone app for iOS and Android. It does not cover the Empowered website, which has a separate demo login. It explains how the app ("we," "us") handles information. Empowered helps you organize your health information. That information stays on your phone.
Everything you enter stays only on your device. That means your profile, conditions, medications, doctors, labs, visits, procedures, and saved guides.
When you ask for a procedure guide, the app sends only the name of the procedure (for example, "colonoscopy").
Each AI-guide request carries an anonymous app pass. It is a random ID, valid for 30 days. It is not tied to your identity, and we do not store it. We use it only to apply fair-use limits.
Our server briefly keeps a short-lived counter tied to your internet (IP) address. We use it only to prevent abuse, by limiting how many requests can be made. We do not use it to track you.
The procedure name is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Your health information is kept in your phone's app storage, so it is protected by your phone's own security. Keep a passcode on your phone. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
In the app, go to Settings and tap "Erase all my data." You can also uninstall the app. Either way, your information is removed from your phone. Because we do not keep a copy, there is nothing to delete on our side.
Empowered is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Empowered is an educational and organizational tool. Procedure guides give general information only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always ask your licensed healthcare provider. In an emergency, call 911.
We may update this policy. If we do, we will change the effective date above.
